Despite the abundance of information, we still have a lot of prejudices that can complicate
the intimate life. Sexologist and psychoanalyst Katrin Blanca every month analyzes one of such common opinions.
Catherine Blanc, author of the book “Women’s Sexuality”.
We will not argue with the fact that the first experience always affects the next whether it is about sexuality or anything else. It is he, the first, allows us to evaluate both attractive and dangerous sides of the new classes for us, which then helps to fix, improve, enrich our sensations. Of course, sometimes the first sexual contact becomes a shock – after all, this is our purely intimate territory. Nevertheless, it is worth dealing with a stereotype that promises us terrible, indelible consequences with which it is supposedly to deal with the rest of life.
As a rule, we experience our first sexual experience in adolescence. According to psychoanalysis, entering into an intimate life, we rely not so much on the information we have already acquired, but on the relations of relations, learned in early childhood and popping up in our minds at this moment. A teenager experiences a storm of diverse and conflicting feelings: this is the development of a new adult for him and the fragile position of the adult, and the feeling of male (or female) freedom, as well as a meeting with another person and in a new way-with himself. Plus, the influence (both beneficial and harmful) of those very learned relations of relations and its personal life experience in childhood. Our first time contains not only this difficult struggle of feelings, but also the desire to experience new sexual sensations, give freedom of impulses, discover a new, wonderful side of life and at the same time find out a real crazy passion, to try to drown out which is dangerous. Who says it is easy and simple? For each of us, the first time for more or less turned out to be an arena for all these internal conflicts, forced us to believe in our own strength, to doubt it or swarm. But is this reason to consider him fatal or fateful!
