YEP! is a committee of young people in Cambridgeshire who want to make a difference in their community by helping people and improving local activities and facilities.

What we do?

We are YEP, the Youth Engagement Partnership, a group of dedicated young people from across Cambridgeshire working with Oblique Arts and the Cambridgeshire County Council to improve our community. We aim to establish partnerships with Councils, Businesses, Community and Charity groups to inform and develop policies, facilities, activities and opportunities for young people across Cambridgeshire. We are currently developing the skills necessary to review services, evaluate policies and champion youth participation. We want to have our voices heard and valued. And to represent young people and their communities to influence positive change and effectively shape our Cambridgeshire.

Where we originated?

We first met as a group when we took part in the NCS (National Citizens Service) program in the summer of 2016 with Cambridgeshire County Council. Following our successful graduation, we were invited to form the YEP ( the Youth Engagement Project) and make a positive contribution locally by continuing our social action journey as part of the Cambridgeshire County Council NCS Graduate scheme. We have recently established partnerships with Oblique Arts who provided us with the YEP! Committee workshops and The Junction in Cambridge who has provided us with workshop space both of whom have committed to supporting us as we develop our ideas and organisation.
